By the stream, a long convoy of termites were moving house. The workers in the centre of the living column were carrying bits and pieces from their old nest (starter cultures, larvae, old porn mags...) while pointy headed soldiers with built-in chemical squirt guns stood guard at the fringers, ready to shoot any hostile ducks. I don't really like termites; they once ate a book of mine....
