It's almost as long as my duck!! Don't worry, no monkeys were harmed in the making of this dessert. Just lots of biscuity bits wrapped in dark chocolate with a scoop of vanilla ice topped with hazelnut. If you are feeling kinky, you can pick it up at one end and bite the other end off!! The 'salami' by itself is a little on the dry side, but taken together with the ice cream, everything melts in a mouthful of macerations.
And there's more from where that came from: citron tart, crème caramel, profiteroles, blueberry tart, apricot cake, chocolate and banana cake, tiramisu and crumbly sbrisolona... Instead of a dessert menu, they have an old dessert trolley which they cart around. The waitress rattled off the items so presto con staccato that I asked for a da capo along with a hazelnut cappuccino.
Gnocchi pomodoro with a glass of their house red (a very easy going table wine; not for connoisseurs who want complex accompaniments). As simple and satisfying as a dish can get.
And finally, starters: a thickish minestrone soup with lots of suspended plant matter. I had never seen this parmesan grating device before and so shamelessly asked for a pose. I think everybody there stared at my philistine duck...

That chocolate salami should have been served with 2 balls of ice cream...
