White ants

My duck disapproves of termites, as they chomped down on one of his favourite fairy-tales five-and-twenty years ago. So it's disheartening to learn that these blind relatives of cockroaches are thought to account for the bulk of the total biomass of rainforests and that they are ready to take over the earth should naked apes vanish from this planet (a vain hope harboured by this duck). Now that's a lot of bugs to smack!
