The integrated shopping mall-cum-bus interchange located at Ang Mo Kio Central is near completion. Such a waste though that the wonderful original plan to develop a Mega-Complex consisting of a 31-storey condo tower, 21-storey office building, NTUC Hypermarket, Bus Interchange and 50 ft high statue of the nation's great leeders fell through due no doubt to the recalcitrant resistance of residents with no vision of the greater good.
But fear not, what Ang Mo Kio failed to attain will now be realised in Clementi Town Centre where residents and users will surely be grateful for the way the plot will in the future generate returns far exceeding what its lousy low-rise design offers at present. What a bargain! Where else can citizens and communities have their old memories trashed without question and exchanged for spanking visions of rejuvenation that will sweep away all ties to time and place?
It's also somehow reassuring to know that duck quacks echo.
I like Malaysia. A lot. Except for a great deal of the people in charge there.

Aiyah, since Toa Payoh now have the HDB hub and is more 'happening', cannot let AMK fall on the wayside, especially since it is also Ah Lee's constituency.
