Just completed, the Millau Viaduct gives the French yet another reason to boast. And on solid grounds, given the sheer span of this 2.5 km sky-high drive that bridges the Tarn Valley in southern France. Reaching a peak height of 340 metres, I reckon foggy days turn this acrophobic's hell into a car advertiser's dream, with visions of sleek sedans speeding over a sea of clouds. Add a few sips of fine cognac, and I wager this ride would be truly a highway to heaven, with a view to die for.
