On the way to Bukit Timah on Saturday, the cab I took turned into Lornie Road from Braddell. Soon after passing the reservoir carpark, the cab cruised in the middle lane. With little warning, a trailer-less lorry swerved from the left lane and more than scraped the left-front end of the taxi. As the thread marks show, the driver was quick off the mark with his brakes. It seems another car in front of the truck had slowed down abruptly, prompting the lorry driver to attempt a sidestepping manœuvre. My duck appears intact but the driver deemed the car unroadworthy. Before hopping into another, I snapped scenes that should hopefully press the case for the unfortunate driver in this orderly land of rules.
Gak! I take it everyone was all right.
